Our team was brought in by an engineer to secure the bulging brick facade on this 19th century former textile mill.Safety was one of our main priorities on this job. The street was closed and a 60ft lift was brought in to complete all of the exterior work. This drawing shows the plan for the repairs between the first and second floors. Rrepairs were made by removing orginal yellow pine flooring in the 2nd floor condo above the restaurant and replacing the floor upon completion. Two channels were cut in the ceiling for each of the rods. 2x12 was installed on each side of the rod. This plan shows the star bolts (custom made decorative cast iron star plates) that are attached to the front facade by threaded rod going through the brick and through the first 5 sets of floor joists. All drilling was done from the outside. Multiple extensions were added to the drill to extend 6ft into the interior.Star Bolt
